How he avoids wasting wood

A wrong long cut becomes the next short piece. A wrong short cut is pure waste. Cross pieces get cut at 24" instead of 30 “so we won't waste too much material.”

The technique, and the reason for it

He finds the twist, and fixes it
“This side is a little bit low. So it's twisting.”
He shims the corners until it sits true. His drill battery dies mid-job, too. Staged data doesn't have moments like these.

The payoff
